Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced today that the Sheriff's Department has issued warrants for the arrest of Harold Levar Jeffcoat (DOB 9-15-77) for armed robbery, in connection with five armed robberies that Jeffcoat committed between January 5, 2006 and January 9, 2006. Sheriff Leon Lott stated that Jeffcoat approached the victims (at their place of employment) and robbed them at gunpoint and stole money and other items from them. The Pine Ridge Police Department is currently investigating an incident that occurred around midnight on 12/21/06. Homeowners had just gone to bed when they heard their alarm go off. The homeowner went to the front door and observed someone standing at his front door. The door was standing open and a suspect was standing at the front door. The suspect ran from the scene before the homeowner could take any action. The Police Department investigation indicates that there were two suspects involved and that the suspects went through the victims vehicles and obtained several sets of keys that were left in the vehicles. The suspects then used the keys to unlock the front door. Several items were left in the vehicles that could have been taken, including a diamond ring, yet nothing is missing. It seems the suspects were after cash only. The suspects used a stolen vehicle to get to the incident location which was stolen from the Wild Meadows Mobile Home Community located at the 4000 block of Fish Hatchery Road. The suspects stole a second vehicle from the incident area in order to get back home. The second vehicle was located about 1 mile from the Wild Meadows Community. A call was received by dispatch around 4:00 a.m. by a woman who saw two males get into another vehicle parked across the street from where the second stolen vehicle was located. Detectives with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department and Richland County Sheriff’s Department are seeking help from citizens in Lexington and Richland counties in finding two men who are wanted by the Richland County Sheriff’s Department on arrest warrants for murder. Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department and Richland County Sheriff’s Department are conducting a joint investigation concerning the death of a 27-year-old Columbia man whom investigators think was killed in RichlandCounty. The man’s body was found in the trunk of a car that had been abandoned in LexingtonCounty. Lexington County Coroner Harry O. Harman said results of an autopsy that was performed on October 20, 2005 on the body of McQuay Stepphon Dawkins, 27, of 1505 Blue Ridge Terrace, Columbia, show that Dawkins died from asphyxiation caused by suffocation. The coroner ruled the death was a homicide. The motive for the homicide remains under investigation, according to Metts and Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott. Lexington County sheriff’s detectives worked in cooperation with Richland County sheriff’s detectives to identify the two men who killed Dawkins. Richland County sheriff’s detectives obtained arrest warrants on a murder charge for Ceasar Everette “Spyder” Johnson, 30, of 120 Blackberry Lane, Swansea, and Elliott Terrell Smalls, 32, of 102 Ferrell Drive, Columbia, Lott said. Investigators think Johnson and Smalls killed Dawkins in RichlandCounty and transported Dawkins’ body to Lexington County.
Dawkins’ body was found on October 19, 2005 in the trunk of a car that had been abandoned under electrical power transmission lines off Preston Street near Gaston, Metts said. Citizens who were riding on a golf cart saw a blue 2001 Chevrolet Impala abandoned off Preston Street and reported the suspicious vehicle to law enforcement at about 2:13 p.m. on October 19. Two gunmen rob Columbia movie theater, tie up employees
Three employees of the AMC Dutch Square 14 movie theater were tied up early today during an armed robbery, but were not physically injured. Columbia police are searching for two suspects who robbed the business and employees at 421 Bush River Road.
The employees were leaving work about 1:20 this morning when the robbers confronted them. One of the robbers tied up two male employees and left them in a room while the second robber took the female employee to the safe. After the money was taken from the safe, the female employee was bound and left in a room with her co-workers.
The robbers, who took the employees’ wallets and purse, fled the scene. The employees freed themselves and called 911 about 2 a.m.
The suspects were black, between 22 and 29 years old and had brown eyes. The first suspect was 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighed 180 pounds and wore a red hooded shirt and black rag over his mouth. The second suspect was 6 feet tall, had a slim build and wore a black hooded shirt with a rag over his mouth. His clothing was baggy.

The Richland County Sheriff's Department is investigating a burglary that occurred at the Jewelry Warehouse at 817 St Andrews Road. The incident took place around 1:45 AM on October 10, 2006. Police need public’s help in locating two men wanted in shooting
Columbia police are searching for two men involved in a Ripplemeyer Avenue assault in which one of them was shot. Several shots also were fired into homes and vehicles.
James Earl Harris
James Earl Harris, (d.o.b. 7-21-73), of 1044 Congaree Church Road, Columbia, is wanted on charges of assault with intent to kill, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, wearing body armor during the commission of a violent crime, criminal conspiracy and discharging a firearm into a dwelling.
Police also are searching for a man whose street name is “Kilo.” He frequents the Ethel Street area. Bishop Apartments on Ripplemeyer Avenue on September 4 to find Kilo, whom he had accused of robbing him earlier. Harris was wearing body armor delivered to him by stepbrothers Quincy and Vincent Jones. After Harris confronted Kilo, at least 19 shots were fired. One hit Harris in the chest. Other shots were fired into at least two occupied apartments and two cars. Harris went to the hospital for treatment but left.
